Herman İç ve Dış Ticaret Limited Şirketi ("Herman", "we", "us" or "our") operates this website as a corporate and promotional platform presenting our international trade, sourcing, export, import and project management activities. Protecting the personal data of our visitors, clients, suppliers and business partners is an integral part of the trust on which our international trade relationships are built.
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, the legal grounds on which we process it, with whom we share it, how long we keep it and which rights you may exercise.
This Policy has been prepared in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 ("KVKK") and its secondary legislation, Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "GDPR") where it applies to visitors located in the European Economic Area ("EEA") or the United Kingdom, and generally accepted international trade and corporate confidentiality standards.
The data controller responsible for the personal data described in this Policy is Herman İç ve Dış Ticaret Limited Şirketi, Çınarlı, 1572. Sk. No:33, Office No 121, 35250 Konak / İzmir, Türkiye. You can reach us at [email protected].
Consequently, the volume and sensitivity of the personal data processed through this website is deliberately kept to a minimum.
Our contact form collects only your name and surname, your e-mail address and your project details. All three are required so that we can identify you, respond to your enquiry and understand the commercial request.
If you voluntarily include additional information inside the free-text project details field — for example your company name, telephone number, country, product specification, quantity or delivery terms — that information will also be processed for the purpose of answering your enquiry. Please do not include special categories of personal data (health data, biometric data, religious or political opinions, trade union membership, criminal records) or third-party confidential information in this field.
If you write to [email protected], call us or contact us through a social media channel, we process the contact details and the content of your message for the purpose of responding.
When you visit this website, and only where you have consented to analytics cookies, limited technical data is generated automatically:
This data is used in aggregate form only, to understand which content, sectors and project pages are of interest to our audience. We do not use it to build marketing profiles and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors from it. Our own statistics module does not store your IP address at any point. Further details are set out in our Cookie Policy.
We do not knowingly collect payment or financial credentials, identity or passport numbers, special categories of personal data, location data more precise than country or region level, or personal data relating to children.
We process personal data for the following purposes:
Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data. We disclose personal data only to service providers acting as our data processors under confidentiality and data processing agreements (website hosting, e-mail and web analytics); to professional advisers bound by professional secrecy; to suppliers, buyers, agents, freight forwarders or customs brokers where this is strictly necessary to prepare an offer in response to your enquiry; and to public authorities where disclosure is required by law, by a court order or by a request from a competent authority.
Herman is an international trade company and enquiries may relate to counterparties in the European Union, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas. Personal data may therefore be transferred abroad, either to service providers whose servers are located outside Türkiye or the EEA, or to partners required to fulfil your request.
Such transfers are carried out under the KVKK on the basis of your explicit consent or one of the transfer mechanisms set out in Article 9 KVKK, and under the GDPR on the basis of an adequacy decision, the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses supplemented where necessary by additional technical and organisational safeguards, or a derogation under Article 49 where the transfer is necessary for the performance of a contract concluded in your interest. A copy of the relevant safeguards may be requested from [email protected].
At the end of the applicable period, personal data is deleted, destroyed or anonymised in accordance with our data retention and destruction policy and Article 7 KVKK.
We apply administrative and technical measures proportionate to the risk, including encrypted transmission of all website traffic over HTTPS/TLS, hashed storage of administrative credentials, protection of forms against cross-site request forgery, restriction of administrative access to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis, confidentiality undertakings binding our personnel, regular software updates and backups, and access logging on the administrative interface.
No transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be entirely secure. Where a personal data breach is likely to result in a risk to your rights and freedoms, we will notify the competent supervisory authority and, where required, the affected individuals, within the periods prescribed by the KVKK and the GDPR.
You have the right to learn whether your personal data is processed; to request information about the processing; to learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used in accordance with that purpose; to know the third parties to whom the data is transferred, in Türkiye or abroad; to request rectification of incomplete or inaccurate data; to request erasure or destruction under Article 7; to request that rectification, erasure or destruction be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred; to object to a result produced solely by automated analysis; and to claim compensation for damage arising from unlawful processing.
If you are located in the EEA or the United Kingdom you also have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interests, as well as the right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling producing legal effects.
Send a written request to [email protected], or in writing to our registered address, stating your name, your contact details and the right you wish to exercise. Under the KVKK we will respond within thirty (30) days; under the GDPR within one (1) month, extendable by two further months for complex requests. Requests are answered free of charge unless they are manifestly unfounded or excessive, or unless a fee is permitted under the applicable Communiqué.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Authority (Kişisel Verileri Koruma Kurumu, www.kvkk.gov.tr) or, in the EEA, with the supervisory authority of your habitual residence, place of work or place of the alleged infringement.
