1. Purpose of this Policy

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are used on the website of Herman İç ve Dış Ticaret Limited Şirketi ("Herman", "we", "us", "our"), why we use them, how long they last and how you can control them.

It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we process personal data more generally, and forms part of our Terms and Conditions.

This Policy is prepared in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK), the Guidelines of the Turkish Data Protection Authority on the Use of Cookies, Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the ePrivacy Directive) and the GDPR.

2. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies allow a website to recognise your device, remember your preferences and understand how the site is used. Similar technologies — such as pixels and local storage — perform comparable functions; references to "cookies" in this Policy cover all of them.

3. Our approach

Because this is a promotional website with no online sales and no payment infrastructure, we use a deliberately small number of cookies. We do not use advertising, retargeting or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell any data collected through cookies.

Strictly necessary cookies are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating the site securely and do not require consent. All other cookies — including analytics cookies — are placed only after you give your consent through the cookie banner, and you may withdraw that consent at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page.

4. Cookies used on this website

4.1 Strictly necessary cookies

• herman_admin — first party, session. Maintains the server session. Required for the security of forms and for the administrator login area. Deleted when the browser is closed.
• Form security token — first party, session. Protects the contact form against cross-site request forgery. Deleted when the browser is closed.
• hcookie — first party, persistent, [12] months. Records your cookie preferences so that the banner is not shown again on every visit.

These cookies cannot be disabled through our banner because the site cannot function securely without them. You can still block them in your browser, but parts of the site — including the contact form — may then stop working.

4.2 Analytics and performance cookies (consent required)

• hv — first party, persistent, [12] months. A randomly generated visitor identifier used by our own statistics module to distinguish a returning visitor from a new one and to measure the time spent on a page. No IP address is stored and the identifier is not linked to your name or e-mail address.
• _ga — Google Analytics, third party, 2 years. Distinguishes unique users by assigning a randomly generated identifier.
• _ga_[container-id] — Google Analytics, third party, 2 years. Maintains the session state for Google Analytics 4.
• _gid — Google Analytics, third party, 24 hours. Distinguishes users over a 24-hour period.
• _gat / _gat_gtag_[id] — Google Analytics, third party, 1 minute. Throttles the request rate to Google's servers.

About Google Analytics. Where enabled, we use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland), to produce aggregated statistics about how the website is used: which pages and project references are viewed, how long visitors stay, which country and language they browse in, which device category they use and which source referred them.

• IP anonymisation is [enabled], so your full IP address is not stored by us.
• Google may transfer data to servers outside Türkiye and the EEA. Such transfers are protected by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and, where applicable, the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
• We do not use Google Analytics for advertising features, remarketing or audience sharing.
• You may opt out of Google Analytics on all websites by installing Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

4.3 Functional cookies

• Language preference — first party, persistent, [12] months. Remembers the language you selected (English, Turkish or French) so the site opens in that language on your next visit.

4.4 Advertising cookies

None. We do not place advertising, remarketing or behavioural profiling cookies.

4.5 Embedded third-party content

Certain pages embed third-party content, in particular a Google Maps frame showing our office location. Providers of such content may set their own cookies when it loads. On this website the map is loaded only after you have accepted non-essential cookies; until then a placeholder is displayed. Cookies set by embedded content are governed by the privacy and cookie policies of the respective providers.

Strictly necessary cookies are placed on the basis of our legitimate interest in providing a functioning and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; Art. 5(2)(f) KVKK). All other cookies are placed on the basis of your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; Art. 5(1) KVKK), which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future.
